Same day estimate. Firm price at your door.

Send your name and number. We text back the same day with what to film, a 2 minute walk from your panel to the garage, plus six quick questions about the house for the load calculation. You get a written estimate that day, and a free 20 minute site visit confirms it before we book. Here is what we will ask for.

  • Start at your electrical panelOpen the door and hold on the label of the main breaker so we can read the amperage. Show the breaker spaces.
  • Walk the path to the garageKeep filming through the basement or along the wall the wire would follow. We need to see finished drywall, open joists, or outside walls.
  • End where the charger goesShow the wall and where the car parks.
  • Film the AC nameplateThe sticker on the air conditioner outside, close enough to read. If your heat is electric or a heat pump, film the furnace label too. Those stickers carry the amp and kilowatt numbers the load calculation needs.
  • Answer six quick questions by textSquare feet, heat, stove, dryer, water heater and air conditioning. With the video and these we run the load calculation the code requires. Then a free site visit confirms the estimate.

03 · Why homeowners trust us

Done to code, inspected, and insured. Every job.

A 240 volt circuit in your garage is not a handyman job. Here is what protects you when we do it.

A permit on every install

We pull the electrical permit with your village or city before we start and the fee is already in your price. No permit means no inspection, and no inspection means your insurer can walk away from a claim. We never skip it.

Inspected by your town

The circuit is checked by the municipal inspector when we finish. You get the approved permit, not just our word that it is right.

Built to the electrical code

Copper wire sized for continuous charging, a breaker matched to the charger, conduit wherever the wire is exposed, and every connection torqued to spec and labeled in the panel.

Insured, with a firm price

General liability insurance on every job, and a price confirmed in person at the free site visit before we book. It does not change on install day.

Install day

What to expect when the truck pulls up.

We show up in the window we gave you, protect your floors and walls where we run wire, clean up when we finish, label the breaker, test the charger on your car, and walk you through the app before we leave.

Jan 1ComEd EV charger rebates reopen January 1, 2027. Up to $2,500 for income qualified homes, up to $750 for everyone else.

The ComEd rebate is closed for 2026. Here is the honest version.

ComEd's 2026 rebate money is gone for both tiers, the base rebate and the income qualified rebate, and there is no waitlist. Nobody installing a home charger this fall is getting a ComEd rebate on it, no matter who tells you otherwise. The program reopens January 1, 2027 and pays in the order applications arrive. If you can wait, we will tell you what it takes: a smart ENERGY STAR charger, three years on a time of use rate, and an installer in ComEd's network. If you cannot wait, our price is the same either way.

  • We tell you which rebate level your address qualifies for
  • We tell you straight whether waiting for January is worth it
  • No rebate promises we cannot keep

07 · FAQ

Straight answers before you call.

How much does it cost to install a Level 2 EV charger?

Most homes in our area land between $1,200 and $2,500 installed when the panel has room and the charger mounts near it. Longer runs, a detached garage, or conduit outside push that to $2,000 to $4,000. If the panel needs an upgrade, add $2,000 to $4,500. You get a written estimate the same day and a firm price after a free site visit.

Do I need a permit, and what does it cost?

Yes. A hardwired charger or a new 50 amp outlet is a new branch circuit, and every village and city around here requires an electrical permit and an inspection. Around our towns the fee usually runs $50 to $300 depending on the municipality. It is already inside the install prices above, we pull the permit in our name and meet the inspector, so you never deal with the building department or pay the village separately.

Can my 100 amp panel handle an EV charger?

Often, yes. We run a load calculation on your actual panel and appliances. Many 100 amp homes can take a 32 or 40 amp charger without an upgrade, and a load-managing charger can make it work when the math is tight. If a service upgrade is truly needed, we tell you before you spend anything.

How do I get the ComEd EV charger rebate?

ComEd pays up to $2,500 toward a Level 2 charger and install for income qualified households and homes in equity eligible communities, and up to $750 for everyone else. The install and the application both have to come from a contractor in ComEd's EV Service Provider network, your account has to be on a time of use rate for three years, and the charger has to be a smart ENERGY STAR unit. The 2026 funds are spent. Applications reopen January 1, 2027, and we file yours.

Which charger should I buy?

For most people a hardwired 48 amp smart unit is the right call: Tesla Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, Emporia, or Wallbox. Those also qualify for the ComEd rebate. If you want to keep it simple and portable, a NEMA 14-50 outlet with a plug-in charger works well but a non smart charger will not get the rebate. Tell us what you drive and we will recommend one.

How long does the install take?

A typical attached garage install is three to five hours and done in one visit. Detached garages and panel upgrades take most of a day. You will be charging the same night in almost every case.
